Longview Harvest Festival & Livestock Show 2026
Longview’s Harvest Festival & Livestock Show 2026 brings attention to the work of young exhibitors across East Texas. If your family enjoys agriculture, hands-on projects, or cheering on local students, this October event is worth putting on the calendar.
Which Longview event is this?
This guide covers the Harvest Festival & Livestock Show at the Longview Convention Complex and fairgrounds, including Maude Cobb Convention Center, 100 Grand Boulevard. It is not a downtown street festival.
The organizer lists the show for October 20–24, 2026. Its detailed program includes a rabbit show on Tuesday, October 20. The city calendar lists October 21–24, so use the organizer’s detailed schedule when planning around a particular competition. October 19 is listed as a setup work day.
What visitors can see
The City of Longview event listing describes livestock, home economics, and agricultural mechanics activities involving 4-H and FFA members from five nearby counties. General public admission is listed as free.
The organizer’s schedule lists public home economics viewing at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 22, and the sale at 6 p.m. Saturday, October 24. Check the current program for building locations, access, and any changes before you arrive.
Build your visit around the exhibitors
Choose the project or competition your group most wants to see, then plan your arrival around that time. A livestock show can have busy periods for unloading, check-in, judging, and moving animals; visitors should follow staff directions and keep aisles clear.
Wear practical shoes and check the weather before leaving.
Ask before approaching or touching an animal.
Give exhibitors room to prepare and compete.
Check which activities are public and which require registration or a separate arrangement.
For children, a useful conversation starter is asking an exhibitor what they learned while preparing a project. The answer can be more memorable than simply walking past a display.
