The REEL East Texas Film Festival 2026 brings independent film to Kilgore November 11–14. For a fall outing with a different pace, choose a screening, make time for a meal, and enjoy a story you might not otherwise discover.
Dates and venues for REEL East Texas 2026
The festival is marking its 10th year. Its 2026 official selections page lists festival and student screenings at the Texan Theater November 11–14 and screenings at 4 Star Cinema November 12–14.
The organizer’s festival listing gives the Texan Theater address as 201 S. Kilgore Street and 4 Star Cinema as 1607 U.S. 259 Business, Kilgore. Check your chosen screening’s venue; the festival is not confined to one room.
Choose a film, then build the day around it
The published selections include documentaries, comedy, drama, horror, and student work. Read the descriptions before choosing a screening, especially if children are coming. An independent film festival can include material intended for adults.
Start with the current program and ticket links on the REEL East Texas website. Confirm the screening time, venue, and what your pass includes before buying. Some pages retain older ticket descriptions, so use the current checkout and program rather than assuming an old price or date still applies.
Make room for the experience
Arrive early enough to find the correct venue and settle in.
Leave a buffer between screenings at different locations.
Check the program for filmmaker discussions and special events.
Keep ticket confirmations accessible and silence your phone during films.
If your group has different tastes, let each person pick one possible screening and compare the options. A shorter visit built around a film everyone wants to see is often more enjoyable than a packed schedule.
