Plumbers Insurance in Longview, TX

Insurance for plumbing contractors starts with the work you perform. Greg Williams Insurance Agency helps Longview and East Texas plumbing businesses review liability, service vehicles, tools, employee coverage, and contract requirements.

Coverage for service calls, installations, and completed work

A leaking connection, damage to a customer's property, a stolen tool, and a vehicle accident raise different coverage questions. One policy may not address all of them. Tell us whether you handle residential service, commercial installations, new construction, drain cleaning, excavation, or a combination.

Describe specialized operations such as gas lines, medical gas, fire-protection systems, trenching, or subcontracted work. Insurer eligibility, classifications, and exclusions need to match the business you actually operate.

General liability and completed operations

General liability insurance can address covered third-party bodily injury and property damage claims, subject to the policy. Review how the policy treats damage while work is underway and claims involving completed work. Do not assume it pays to replace your own defective work or covers every water-damage allegation.

Bring contract requirements for limits, additional insured status, primary and noncontributory wording, or a waiver of subrogation. We can review what the policy and endorsements provide and identify requests that need insurer approval.

Commercial auto for plumbing service vehicles

Review commercial auto insurance for service vans, pickups, trailers, and other business vehicles. Share who drives, where vehicles are kept, the operating radius, and whether employees use personal or rented vehicles for business. Tools carried inside a van may need a separate coverage review.

Tools, equipment, and materials

List drain-cleaning machines, cameras, hand tools, rented equipment, and installation materials. Ask about inland marine or equipment coverage away from your office, including transit and jobsites. Compare limits, deductibles, theft conditions, valuation, and any unattended-vehicle restrictions.

Employees and jobsite requirements

Discuss workers' compensation insurance using actual employee duties, payroll, subcontractor arrangements, and project requirements. Bring the general contractor's requirements before agreeing that your coverage meets them. Employee-injury arrangements and contractual obligations deserve a separate review from general liability.

Texas plumbing-board insurance requirements

The Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners requires a Responsible Master Plumber to maintain at least $300,000 of commercial liability insurance and provide the required certificate. This licensing requirement does not establish the right limit for every business or satisfy every customer contract.

Confirm the current requirements and approved form directly with the Texas State Board of Plumbing Examiners. Let us know if your request is for the Board, a general contractor, a property manager, or another customer, because the recipient and documentation can differ.

Certificate requests without missing details

Existing clients can request a certificate of insurance. Include your insured business name, the certificate holder's exact name and address, recipient email, project description, location, and deadline. Send any additional-insured or other insurance requirements for review.

A certificate is evidence of coverage currently in force. It does not amend coverage or give the holder rights beyond the policy and applicable endorsements. Turnaround depends on the request, current coverage, and any insurer approval needed; contact us directly about urgent deadlines.

See the Texas Department of Insurance certificate FAQs for more information.

Plumbing contractor insurance questions

Does being a certificate holder make a customer an additional insured?

No. Certificate holder and additional insured are different roles. Additional insured status must be supported by the policy or an applicable endorsement; a name on a certificate alone does not create it.

Can one quote include liability, vehicles, and tools?

We can review those needs together, but the available coverage may involve separate policies or endorsements. Compare the coverage, limits, exclusions, and combined cost.

Can you review a renewal before our next project?

Yes. Send your renewal date and project requirements early so we can identify the information and insurer decisions needed. A review does not guarantee acceptance or a lower premium.

Coverage and availability depend on the insurer, operations, and issued policy, including its terms, limits, conditions, and exclusions. This information does not change your policy.
